By using My Pardon (mypardon.ca), you agree to the following terms. Please read them carefully before purchasing a plan or using our tools.
My Pardon provides self-service software tools to help Canadians prepare their own record suspension (formerly "pardon") applications for submission to the Parole Board of Canada (PBC). Our service includes an AI-powered criminal record scanner, guided statement builder, form auto-fill, task management, document tracking, and an AI chat assistant.
We provide three service tiers: Navigator ($149), Fast Track ($299), and Freedom ($499). Each tier includes different levels of guidance, AI features, and support.
My Pardon is not a law firm, paralegal service, or legal aid organization. We do not provide legal advice, legal representation, or legal opinions. Our tools are designed to help you prepare your own application — they do not replace professional legal counsel.
The AI-generated content (scanner results, statement drafts, chat responses) is produced by artificial intelligence and may contain errors. You are responsible for reviewing all output for accuracy before including it in your application.
We strongly recommend consulting a licensed lawyer or legal aid clinic if you have questions about eligibility, legal implications, or complex criminal records. The Parole Board of Canada can be reached at 1-800-874-2652.
We provide tools to help you prepare your application. We do not guarantee that the Parole Board will grant your record suspension. The decision to grant or deny a record suspension rests solely with the PBC. Our eligibility analysis is an estimate based on the information you provide and may not account for all factors the PBC considers.
You are responsible for the accuracy of all information you provide through My Pardon. This includes personal details, criminal record information, statement content, and supporting documentation. Providing false information to the PBC is a federal offence.
You are responsible for meeting all PBC deadlines, submitting your application by mail, paying the PBC's $50 processing fee, and obtaining all required documents (court records, police checks, etc.) from the appropriate authorities. My Pardon does not submit applications on your behalf.
You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials. Given the sensitive nature of criminal record data, we strongly recommend using a strong, unique password. You must not share your account with others. Notify us immediately at hello@mypardon.ca if you suspect unauthorized access to your account.
All prices are in Canadian dollars (CAD) and include applicable taxes where required. Payments are processed securely through Stripe. Your subscription grants you access to the tools and features included in your chosen plan for the duration needed to complete your application.
My Pardon's fee is separate from the PBC's $50 processing fee and any third-party costs (fingerprinting, court fees, police check fees, mailing costs). These additional costs are your responsibility and are not included in our pricing.
We offer a full refund under the following conditions:
Within 14 days of purchase — Full refund, no questions asked, regardless of usage.
Before completing Step 2 — If you have not yet completed the "Gather Documents" step (i.e., you have not used our tools to generate or fill court/police request forms), you are eligible for a full refund.
After Step 2 or after 14 days — Refunds are not available, as significant value has been delivered through personalized AI scanning, document generation, and form preparation.
To request a refund, email hello@mypardon.ca with your account email and reason. Refunds are processed within 5–10 business days back to the original payment method.
My Pardon uses Anthropic's Claude AI to power features including record scanning, statement generation, form guidance, and chat assistance. AI-generated content is provided as a starting point and must be reviewed and edited by you.
We make reasonable efforts to ensure AI accuracy, but AI systems can make mistakes. You must verify all AI-generated information, especially conviction details, eligibility dates, and legal interpretations, against your official documents. We are not liable for errors in AI-generated content.
The My Pardon platform, including its design, code, and proprietary AI prompts, is owned by My Pardon. Your personal data, uploaded documents, and the final content of your application belong to you. You grant us a limited license to process your data solely to provide the service.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, My Pardon's total liability to you for any claims arising from your use of our service is limited to the amount you paid for your plan. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.
We are not liable for any decisions made by the Parole Board of Canada, delays in PBC processing, errors in documents obtained from third parties (courts, police services), or any consequences resulting from the use of AI-generated content that you did not verify.
You may close your account at any time by emailing hello@mypardon.ca. We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these terms, provide false information, or use the service for unlawful purposes. Upon termination, your data will be deleted in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of Ontario.
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email or a prominent notice on our website. Continued use of My Pardon after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
Questions about these Terms? Reach us at hello@mypardon.ca.
Reminder: My Pardon is a self-service tool, not a law firm. We help you prepare your application — the Parole Board of Canada makes all final decisions. For legal advice, consult a licensed lawyer.
